People may have heard the term "junk-food-junkie" well I am a fitness junkie. When I decided to lose weight, I relied on magazines, books, and online fitness websites as some of my sources of helpful information to get me there. I discovered Remedy Life, which is an online resource with information on fitness, health and overall well-being, catered to those 40 and up. This is perfect for me as I am 44 and need something that is tailored to my fitness needs.
When you visit the Remedy Life website, you will notice how attractive it is with multiple displays of articles, pictures and tabs with information on: The heart, diabetes, expert advice, news and informational topics, special offers, and recipes and lifestyle. When I chose the general tab, I found information on Dara Torres, and Olympic gold medalist, and information about her recovery from an innovative knee surgery. I found all the articles in this section well written, useful and informative.
When you open the special offers tab you will be introduced to a Remedy Life membership, which includes a free quarterly health magazine and one-year subscription to Remedy Life. This subscription membership also includes:
• Some free samples
• Coupons
• Videos and tools for weight management
• Free health tips and news letter
• Health survey and polls participation opportunities
• Free regular health alerts
I believe with anything, you should proceed with caution. It is great that they offer so many amazing things for free but they do have an invested interest. I am sure there are opportunities to purchase items and that is understandable, they have to make money to have their website. There are many advertisements from other blogs encouraging Remedy Life membership. I also noticed that MediZine LLC, which calls themselves a leading health education company, owns Remedy Life. If you read the fine print, you will also notice that a membership with Remedy Life is also an agreement that members will allow MediZine permission to share personal information with third parties. This got me to thinking, is this really free? Do I really want others to have access to my e-mail, name, and home address for possible marketing purposes? I decided it would be wise not to subscribe to Remedy Life's membership. I think their website offers a host of helpful information for those over 40 interested in fitness so I will just have to be satisfied by visiting the site. It is totally up to you on your membership decision as it is a personal one anyway but in my opinion, I would opt out of the membership and visit to get the information you want.
