A Mykonos Guide On Where To Party

What's a person to do when heading to Mykonos but to party your hearts out until it's time to go. That's what Kim and I did and we lived to tell the tale, though not the prettiest one to tell in front of the kids.

Let's start off with a place called Cavo Paradiso. Imagine an outdoor club that's built on a bluff which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. That doesn't actually get going until 4 am, peaks at sunrise and when the first plane takes off (at the airport next door), triggers everyone to jump in the pool clothes on or off to celebrate. All the while, the hottest DJ's on the planet are shooting bass through your chest like an internal vibration machine.

Now the party continues at Super Paradise Beach and it gets even wilder that you just have to tell for the whole world to know. One moment people are just lounging around, sipping cocktails under the sun and the next thing you know everybody's up and dancing. I'm pretty sure that not even the wildest adolescent mind could make up a hotter story as compared to what can be experienced in reality in this spot. It's that hot!

Visualize a sexy beach, plus with all those swanky yachts moored out on the water, creating a sophisticated background to this hip party place. Topless women cooling themselves off with glasses of ouzo under thatched-roof huts are a common sight.

On our way there, the scooter was a genius idea. As it turned out, we drank and enjoyed a little too much of those Mojitos that getting back to town became quite a challenge. You'd have to travel a bit far getting there since Super Paradise Beach is six miles from town. Nevertheless, it was all worth it.

Partying in Mykonos is incredible, but all the more made special by celebrating the sunsets at the Elysium Hotel. This hotel has a gigantic deck that has the most fantastic view of the town and the turquoise water below. It is quite known as a gay hotel and it's also got one of the best house music around so again, the best looking and hippest partygoers flock here at all times of the day and night.

Now, imagine that before your eyes the sky begins to turn a burnt orange as you watch the sun make its daily dip into the med. But, before it does it bathes the white houses on the shore line and makes them look as if god himself has touched them. With a glass of chilled champagne in your hand you toast the Greek Gods above. You pray that you live another day to see that magnificent sun do its dance just one more time.
